WW3 In Bible Prophecy
Eschatology Deep Dive - Sub #32
The title of this deep dive speaks for itself. This is not an update I am excited about sharing with you. However, information about this near-future event is documented in the Bible and needs to be shared and understood.
Bible prophecy does several things. It provides evidence and validity to the Bible, which in turn leads people to the ultimate purpose of God’s word, and that is Jesus—the only true God and redeemer of our souls (1st John 5:20). Bible prophecy for the believer also provides a blessing as Revelation 1:3 points out. The blessing builds confidence in the scriptures, especially eschatology, which most pastors shy away from; it prompts preparedness and navigational insight to anyone who understands it. Just ask the Wise Men; they used Bible prophecy during their day to know to follow a specific type of star that would lead them to the coming messiah and savior of the world, Jesus. They didn’t use demonic astrology, which is different from astronomy. They used what they had learned from the word of God. Most people miss this during Christmas when preached and taught about the Wise Men and how they knew to follow that star.
1Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:1-2
So, the question that comes to mind is how these wise men knew that following this star would lead them to Jesus. Again, I can assure you that they didn’t practice astrology. The Wise Men knew to follow this star based on what they learned from the scriptures. They read their Bible.
17“I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult. Numbers 24:17
This is a prophecy about Jesus rising as a Star out of the nation of Israel who will, at a time in the future, destroy all of their enemies to the point of complete annihilation (Armageddon). The Wise Men were aware of this prophecy of Jesus rising as a bright star out of Israel, hence why they followed this particular star. The Wise Men were looking for an event described from the scripture as their indication of what to do next. The Bible speaks precisely about a star and its historical, prophetic meaning and illustrates why the Wise Men would take notice and follow it as a direction to find Jesus. I wish I could have seen the star they were following. It must have been amazing and unique, unlike anything ever seen in the sky before!
The primary “Blessing” that the Book of Revelation speaks about is for the last generation of believers in Christ. Places like Daniel 12:4, 8-10 plainly tell us this will be the case. Let’s look at Revelation and Daniel to connect this dot.
3Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. Revelation 1:3 NASB
4But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase…….8Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things? ”9And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. Daniel 12:4, 8-10
So, like the Wise Men, we can navigate properly during these last days, using discernment of the Bible for future events that will continue to transpire right up until Christ's second coming and his rapture of the Church. This is the Blessing. The Wise Men were looking for Christ's first coming, and we are looking forward to Christ's second coming. Let’s be wise and allow God’s word (The Bible) to guide us through and empower us to persevere during these end times.

You may be surprised to learn that WW3 is mentioned in great detail in the Books of Revelation and Ezekiel. The Book of Revelation mentions that this war will result in the death of 1/3 of humankind, so we know this will have to be a world war for such mass casualties, likely caused by nuclear warfare. We will be covering all this scripturally shortly. I will also be showing you a diagram comparison of Revelation to Ezekiel so that you can see how they are talking about the same war from two different angles, and by putting them together, we will be able to really see clearly how this will all unfold and look like before, during and afterward.
One might ask why the Bible only mentions WW3 and not WW1 or WW2 since these two previous world wars caused such massive worldwide casualties and created such a significant shift in global affairs. Well, this may come as a shock, but the Bible does mention WW1 and WW2, which are also found in the Book of Revelation. Most people have not discovered them because they see Revelation as still futuristic. In other words, most people believe and are being taught that the events in the Book of Revelation are events to occur only during the final seven years. John wasn’t writing about events that were only to take place during the final seven years; however, he was writing about future events that would take place beyond John’s present time until Christ's 2nd coming and the Rapture of the church. Nowhere in Revelation does it state that the events spoken of by John are limited to the final seven years only.
The problem is that no one knows about these events mentioned in the Bible because no one has been looking for them. The popular pre-tribulation prism that most pastors and scholars adhere to today has blinded them to the reality of just how far along we are living through the Book of Revelation today. The Book of Revelation mentions seven Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls. Four Seals have already opened, and five Trumpets have already been blown while the Bowls have yet to start. I go in-depth about this in my book “The EndTIme Is Now.” The sixth Trumpet is WW3, which is just on the horizon. The book of Revelation is not in chronological order, and just because some Seals and Trumpets have already occurred doesn’t mean we are in the final seven years yet. It does mean that we are definitely living in the last days and don't have much longer. The next two Bible prophecies to occur on the prophetic timeline are the false seven-year covenant of Daniel 9:27 and the 6th Trumpet War (WW3) found in the Book of Revelation. The Bible doesn’t specifically say which one will happen first; either could be followed by the other. It is my “opinion” that it does appear to be that the false peace deal of Daniel 9:27 will likely happen first.
Okay, if some events of Revelation have already occurred, then it would also make sense that there should be corroborating historical evidence that supports what the Bible proclaims about these events. This is a very thorough and compelling approach.
WW1 and WW2 are found through the first and second Trumpets.
1st Trumpet
7The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. Revelation 8:7
During WW1, airplanes first became a part of warfare, and they were literally throwing bombs from planes; fire followed, killing men. Large amounts of artillery shells and chemical agents were used for the first time on troops, killing over 8 million people. Understand John was witnessing this vision and had never seen things like this before. He was writing what he saw. This verse also talks about the earth and green things being burnt up. It was during WW1 when biological and chemical weapons were first used as battlefield weapons. This all contributed to a policy called the scorched earth policy. The concept was when retreating before the enemy, to ensure not to leave anything useful for them, no vegetation, weapons, etc….Both sides followed this policy, which caused vast amounts of land to be burnt up and vegetation to be destroyed. WW1, 8.2 million people died. This was the 1st Trumpet.

2nd Trumpet
8Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. Revelation 8:8-9 NKJV
World War 2, 1939 - 1945 Fifty-two million people died in this war. How many ships participated, and how many were sunk? 105,127 ships participated in WW2, and 36,387 were sunk. Almost exactly 1/3. The nuclear bomb deployed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki resembled "Something like a great mountain burning with fire.” This was the first atomic bomb dropped and was a new sight on the world stage. I've tried to research animal deaths as well as sea animal deaths during wars. I found that tens of thousands of land animals died during these wars, horses being among the highest numbers. However, it seems impossible to know the number of sea animal deaths for obvious reasons. We understand the devastation a nuclear fallout can have and, with all the ships at sea waging war against each other, what effect it could have on the sea creatures. I can only say I have no reason to believe this war didn't cause 1/3 of the sea creatures to die because of the fact that the other portions of this prophesy match so perfectly. A third of the ships and a great fire cast into the islands of Japan located out in the sea; WW2 was the 2nd Trumpet.
6th Trumpet
13Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. Revelation 9:13-16
The 6th Trumpet War kills 1/3 of mankind and will start from the Euphrates River area, and an army of 200 million men will participate in this war. No war like this has happened so far. Every nuclear superpower today has ties to the Middle East, with the United States and Russia both being the largest nuclear powers. There are about 7.2 billion people on earth today, and 1/3 of them would be around 2.4 billion people today. 8.2 million were killed in WW1, 52 million were killed in WW2, and 2.4 Billion will be killed in the 6th trumpet war. That's 46 times the deaths of WW2.
This war starts in the area of the Euphrates River. Four nations house the river: Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Turkey. Who will make up the 200 million-man army? A few powers with a large enough population could do that today: China, India, and Islam. Another idea is that the 200 million-man army could suggest the total combined fighters from all involved, a coalition army. We don't know yet. Islam will be a part of this war because the war begins from the Euphrates, a 100% Islamic river. The angels are represented as evil spirits. Godly angels are not bound. These angels most likely represent the spirits of these four nations that house the Euphrates River.
18By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. Revelation 9:18
This is 1/3 of all humans on earth being killed with what John appears to be describing as the destruction by nuclear warfare (fire, smoke, brimstone 1/3 are killed by these three).
One may be wondering when is the timing of this great war? Chapters 10 and 11 of Revelation are events recorded that follow after the sixth Trumpet war but before the 7th Trumpet. Chapter 11 records the ministry of the two witnesses. These two witnesses do not appear on the scene until the Abomination of Desolation occurs. Their ministry is precisely 1260 days or 3 1/2 years, the same as the Antichrist's reign. The two witnesses die lying in the streets 3 1/2 days before they are resurrected within the same hour of the 7th and final Trumpet sounding, the rapture. We already know that the Abomination of Desolation doesn’t occur until the midpoint of the seven-year period. So, in conclusion, we can confidently say that this war will be before the Abomination of Desolation, most likely after the peace agreement of Daniel 9:27, the confirmation of the covenant. This war will occur during the first half of the seven-year period or just prior to the peace agreement, not during the second half, which will be the Great Tribulation. Interestingly, many Bible scholars suggest that the Ezekiel 38-39 war of Gog and Magog will happen just before or at the beginning of the final seven years.
I believe the 6th Trumpet War and the Gog and Magog War are the same. Ezekiel gives more details of all the participants of the war geopolitically, whereas Revelation 9 provides details of the destruction; both overlap with the same participants that include the four spirits or countries that house the Euphrates River: Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. One may be asking, where is the United States during this war? The Eagle’s Wings of the United States are protecting Israel for 3 1/2 years from the presence of Satan during the Great Tribulation (Revelation 12:14). The Great Tribulation doesn’t begin until the second half of the seven years. So from this understanding, it appears the U.S. survives this 6th Trumpet war but not without judgment from God. As we look at Ezekiel 39:6, the most secure nation on the planet during this war is found to have what appears to be a nuclear exchange with Russia.
6“And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. Ezekiel 39:6
It goes without saying that the United States is the most secure nation on this planet today, with the strongest military strength in modern history. The United States is surrounded mainly by coastlands east, west, and south, with Hawaii completely surrounded. It appears the U.S. is inserted into this war due to Russia (Magog) and its other northern allies' aggressive attack against Israel. This may also suggest that most of the U.S. casualties from this war will be in the coastal areas. Check out my deep dive “United States In the Bible” after reading this one.
Yes, folks, the Gog and Magog war will go global with what may be a nuclear exchange between Russia and the United States. These types of headlines are in our news today. When this war goes global, it will be WW3. As a matter of fact, the Gog and Magog War carries many similarities to Revelation chapter 9, the Sixth Trumpet War. Let’s take a look at Gog and Magog.
1Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you. 7“Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them. 8After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. 9You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.” 10‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: 11You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— 12to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. 13Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’ ” ’14“Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it? 15Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. 16You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” 17Thus says the Lord God: “Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied for years in those days that I would bring you against them? Ezekiel 38:1-17
Who are the Invaders Ezekiel is referring to in our modern times?
Gog- is the primary leader of Russia
Rosh- is Russia
Magog- is the land of the far north inside Russia. This specifically may refer to Gog’s residence in Moscow, Russia.
Meshech and Tubal- consensus seems to indicate Turkey
Persia- Iran
Ethiopia- Sudan, Somalia
Libya- North Africa
Gomer- North Central Turkey
Togarmah- Estern Turkey
Many "Peoples" with you- the Bible does not mention the word race, so when you see the word "peoples," it's referring to many other cultural groups from other nations. This may include China, though it's not explicitly mentioned. The fact that the passage says several times in different ways referencing a large army looking like a vast incoming cloud certainly could include China. China presently has strong ties with both Russia and Iran.
Verses 8 and 12 both confirm a fulfilled prophecy that took place on May 14th, 1948. After 2,000 years of non-existence, miraculously, Israel became a nation again. Even more amazing is that they became a nation just a couple of years after the Holocaust, led by Hitler, killed over 6 million Jews. The Bible is alive and real, people! The most significant prophetic fulfillment that we are living in the last days is the fact that Israel exists when they haven’t in over 2000 years. No other nation has ever done this, ever! The Gog and Magog war will happen. Alliances are forming that never have developed before. Alliance of the invaders of Israel that this passage is referring to.
Another interesting point to consider is something former Israeli general and prime minister Ehud Barak mentioned in 2022: “Throughout Jewish history, the Jews did not rule for more than eighty years, except in the two kingdoms of David and the Hasmonean dynasty, and in both periods, their destruction began in the eighth decade.” On May 14th, 2025, Israel will be turning 77.
You also see in the passage above repeated several times that this war happens during a time of peace and safety. It even mentions dwelling without walls, which could indicate the end of the Palestinian conflict with the Arabs or Jordanians that dwell outside the walled area of Israel. The only thing that will end the Palestinian conflict is Daniel 9:27, which confirms the covenant. This is when the Antichrist confirms a false peace or safety for Israel that provides an acknowledgment of Israel's existence by many. This will launch humanity into the final seven-year period called Daniel's 70th week. Though Israel is a sovereign nation, they are not presently in an entirely peaceful situation as described here. This is why I'm confident that the Gog & Magog war will take place shortly following the confirmation of the covenant of Daniel 9:27, and you will know it is the covenant if it includes the Palestinians. It has to include the Palestinians, and when it does, you can bet your bottom dollar that the United Nations will want to ratify it (confirm), hence the reference to the "many" that Daniel mentions that will also be a part of this false peace deal. Another indication that the Gog and Magog war will be at the very beginning of the final seven years is found in Ezekiel 39:9. It states that Israel will be burning the weapons of their enemies for seven years. This could refer to nuclear resources confiscated by Israel as being utilized as an energy source. In any case, this will happen after the war and only last seven years. Why? Because Jesus will rule and reign, this resource will not need to be utilized or burned up anymore during the millennium reign. There is much more to glean from the Gog and Magog War. I encourage you to read the entirety of chapters 38-39 of Ezekiel.
What will the Antichrist's role be during WW3 (6th Trumpet / Gog & Magog War)? Let’s take a look at Revelation chapter 9 when fire, smoke, and brimstone are doled out.
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21
It’s what you're not seeing here that answers the question. We know that until now, the Antichrist has not been publicly revealed. We know this because the people still do not repent to God after this horrific war. They are rebuked for worshiping everything but the Antichrist; they are going to turn to human answers and his one-world government. League of Nations was established after WW1 and the United Nations after WW2, both with the intention of preventing future world wars. After this war, I'm sure it will usher in a full-blown global government led by the Antichrist. The Antichrist and the Ten Kings of Daniel will rise to power during the first half of the final seven years following WW3.
