As we here in the United States are celebrating our independence as a nation, I thought it would be a great opportunity to dig a little into God’s word to see if we can find any answers to the question, "Where is the United States in Bible prophecy?” Most scholars come to many unbiblical conclusions and speculations that because they can’t see the United States in the Bible, this must mean the United States will be wiped out by war or that we may become an isolated nation and even that the rapture may take us out, etc. Often, you hear these sorts of ideas from the pulpit and Bible prophecy teachers stating the United States is not found anywhere in the Bible, yet they have all these speculations and conclusions that aren’t found in the Bible. What they are doing is imposing their ideas and opinions onto the Bible so that they can provide an answer to a question they obviously don’t know. My rule of thumb is that it’s ok to say you don’t know something until you do. Especially when handling the Bible.
What if I could show you clearly in the Bible that God has a grand plan for the United States during these last days, especially during the Great Tribulation? I understand that our country is in a downward spiral morally and even spiritually right now, but let me remind you God has a way of turning things around rapidly so that they might be used for his purpose and good. Sometimes, it means some uncomfortable times and pain to get his people where he needs us to be in order to be used by him according to His will. The United States is, in fact, in the Bible, and she has a great role to play in God’s prophetic plan during these last days. Let’s Jump in!
In the Book of Daniel, God speaks to Daniel and shows him four Beasts that represent 4 kingdoms or nations during the last days. These four Beasts are the Lion, Bear, Leopard, and the Ten-Horned Beast. God picked symbols for these nations and Kingdoms that have meaning during the last days that we can recognize now. We know that these four Beast are kingdoms represented during the time of the end of human government to the transition to the Kingdom of God. Therefore, if these Beast are represented today, we know we are the generation of the time of the end.
9“I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool…. Daniel 7:9
The “Ancient of Days” refers to Jesus. This occurs at the very end when this world’s human government is transitioned to Godly, led by Jesus.
For this study, our focus will be on the first Beast.
4The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. Daniel 7:4
Here we find the Symbol of a LION. What nation today has the symbol of a lion? Answer: GREAT BRITAIN. In verse 4, Daniel states he saw Eagles’ Wings growing out of the Lion until he watched the wings plucked off. EAGLES WINGS is the official symbol of the United States. Furthermore, the United States came from Great Britain (wings plucked off.) The phrase “made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it” can be interpreted as the birth of a nation.
Daniel, over 2500 years ago, saw the breaking of the U.S. from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence! The United States Declaration of Independence was declared on 7-4-1776, and this passage is found in Daniel 7:4. It Makes you say Hmm?
It’s been stated that the books of Daniel and Revelation go hand in hand and that you can’t read one book without referring to the other for a clear understanding of certain things. I totally agree! When doing topical studies of any kind, it’s a great idea to dive into all the passages and scriptures in the Bible that pertain to that topic so that you can bring them together to see the full picture. Kinda like a puzzle or connect the dots. Sometimes, one piece of a puzzle isn’t enough and can dangerously be misconstrued or, in this case, Biblically misinterpreted. When we look at Revelation 13, we find the four Beast of Daniel chapter 7 mentioned again as a cohesive unit or combo Beast.
1Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion…Revelation 13:1-2
This is describing the one-world government led by the Antichrist. One thing you won’t find anywhere in Revelation 13 is the Eagles’ wings. Where are the Eagles’s wings? Keep in mind the Biblical books originally had no chapter or verse breaks, it was written in a continued manner. I say that to say, a few verses prior to chapter 13, we find the Eagles’ wings in Revelation 12 protecting Israel from the Antichrist during the 3 1/2 year Great Tribulation that occurs during the second half of Daniel’s 70th week (final seven years.)
14But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. Revelation 12:14
The United States will be right by Israel’s (the woman) side in opposition to the Antichrist and his one-world government during the 3 1/2 year Great Tribulation. Many will say, but the Bible states that all nations will be coming against Jerusalem, as found in Zechariah 14:2; this must include the United States. My answer to that is that what’s being described here could be a government body that makes decisions on behalf of all nations, such as the “United Nations.” The “United Nations” or a future body like this could certainly be interpreted as “All Nations.” The Bible describes in other places that the Antichrist, during his 3 1/2 year reign, will have much opposition. For instance, the country of Jordan will not be a part of the Antichrist one-world system. We learn this from Daniel 11:41.
41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. Daniel 11:41
All of these areas are in Jordan, which will never be under the power of the Antichrist. So, Biblically, we know for sure that Israel, Jordan, and the United States will not be part of the beast system that takes full effect during the last half of the final seven years known as the Great Tribulation. Now, that’s not to say that there will not be some kind of cooperation among the nations of the world during the first half of the final seven years. It will be during this time that the ten kings (horns), along with the Antichrist, will begin to rise in power. We see something definitely changes when the Antichrist is given authority at the halfway point during the time of the abomination of desolation (Daniel 7:25, Daniel 9:27, Daniel 12:7, Revelation 13:5). We also see another geopolitical shift happen during this time as three of those horns or kings are removed (Daniel 7:8).
15“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand)…..21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matthew 24:15, 21
Many who don’t understand that the United States is, in fact, mentioned throughout the scriptures will argue that the Eagles’ wings mentioned in Revelation chapter 12 are nothing more than God’s sovereign protection over Israel. Scholars refer to the symbolic usage of Eagles’ wings in Exodus 19:4 and Isaiah 40:31 for their rationale. However, Daniel 7:17, 23 specifically describes to us who these beasts are.
17‘Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings which arise out of the earth….23“Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms…Daniel 7:17, 23
Daniel states they are Kings and Kingdoms, and we see these beasts mentioned again in Revelation chapter 13 as a cohesive combo beast under the rule of the Antichrist. The Eagles’ wings are nowhere to be found because they are here earlier in Revelation chapter 12. Therefore to compare Revelation 12:14 to Exodus or Isaiah is an incorrect analysis based on the detailed information we received from Daniel about these symbols and their meanings during the endtime.
Where else is the United States mentioned in the Bible? The United States is mentioned in a place that most will be surprised to see. The Gog & Magog War of Ezekiel 38-39. Yes, folks, though this war begins at the doorsteps of the mountains of Israel, it goes global. This will be WW3. I plan on doing a deep-dive study on WW3 in the near future as we see parallels between the Gog & Magog war of Ezekiel and the sixth trumpet war of Revelation 9. For now, to stay on topic as we look at Ezekiel 39:6, the most secure nation on the planet during this war is found having what appears to be a nuclear exchange with Russia.
6“And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. Ezekiel 39:6
This is not referring to Israel, It’s another nation. It goes without question that the United States is the most secure nation on this planet today with the strongest military strength in modern history, not to mention the United States is surrounded mostly by coastlands east, west, and south. Most Americans take for granted today the real estate we reside on while our constitution allows unprecedented freedom that we are afforded unlike any other in history. It appears the U.S. is inserted into this war due to Russia (Magog) and its other northern allies' aggressive attack against Israel. We are witnessing today all the pawns being placed for this near future war. This may also suggest that most of the U.S. casualties from this war will be in the coastland areas. After this war, most of the world will turn to human answers for solutions (rise of the ten horns and Antichrist); however, there will be some who will "know that I am the Lord." I believe the United States will be among the latter group, hence the reason we see the Eagle's Wings protection of Israel during the 3 1/2 year Great Tribulation that will follow afterward when the Abomination of Desolation occurs, spoken of by Daniel 9:27.
Though this War will bring judgment upon the United States, it appears to be God's way of turning things around rapidly so that the United States (Eagles Wings) might be used for his purpose and good. This will be a revival like none other among the Saints here.
Regardless of what any Presidential administration's direction is on policy-making, the Bible prophecies always come to pass. The United States (Eagle Wings) will defend Israel throughout the entire 3 1/2 year Great Tribulation. That brings to question, where is the United States during the battle of armegeddon? There is no mention of the Eagles’ wings protection during that time. As a matter of fact, it’s Jesus himself who steps in to annihilate Israel’s enemies. This brings us back to Zecharia 14:2-3.
2For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3Then the Lord will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. Zechariah 14:2-3
This describes the final battle before Jesus sets up his kingdom for the millennium reign. It takes place immediately after the rapture of the Church, hence the reason why you don’t see the Eagles' protection any longer. The rapture will decimate the United States’ ability to continue. Can I prove this Biblically? Many people of all nations, tribes, and tongues will come to Christ during the Great Tribulation. This will be the time that the fullness of the Gentiles happens (Romans 11:25-26). This will be the greatest revival this world has ever witnessed, literally! With the United States being the epicenter of this revival, it makes sense that she will have the greatest number to go percentage-wise in the rapture, leaving Israel alone to itself, totally dependent on God.
9After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!…..13Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” 14And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 7:9, 13-14
I’m going to connect some Biblical dots showing the rapture takes place right before the battle of Armageddon that Zechariah mentions. Everyone just about agrees that the rapture of the church is spoken of as “Jesus coming as a thief.” It’s not that we are not able to know when Jesus is coming. In fact, he tells us to be watchful. No one knows now when Jesus is coming back, but we will soon know when that day will be. It’s an event timeline. Here are a few verses.
2For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 1st Thessalonians 5:2
4But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 1st Thessalonians 5:4
43But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Matthew 24:43
In Revelation chapter 16:12-16 during the 6th bowl, Jesus gives the same warning again when the Euphrates River is dried up to make way for the kings of the east as the armies of the world gather together for the final battle of Armageddon to come against Jerusalem that Zechariah also speaks about. By the way, the wrath of God is only spoken of as the Bowl events. The Great Tribulation is the wrath of Satan, not God (Revelation 12:12).
15“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” 16And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. Revelation 16:15-16 NKJV
This places the timing of Jesus’ last and final warning nearly at the very end of the final seven years. Let’s take a look at the seventh bowl. In Revelation 16:17, we hear a proclamation from the throne of God: “It is Done!”. This is the rapture folks! In verse 19, Babylon is being destroyed.
17Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.Revelation 16:17-19 NKJV
We get a warning from Jesus to be watchful in verse 15 during the 6th bowl, and two verses later, at the beginning of the 7th bowl, we have the great proclamation from the throne of God, “It is Done!” A similar proclamation was made when Jesus died on the cross, and he stated, “It is finished” (John 19:30). Both proclamations are connected to the Church. Salvation made available, and then our redemption! I know what you may be thinking. If God’s wrath is the bowl events that happen at the very end, then why would we be going through the wrath of God when we are promised not to suffer from God’s wrath ( 1st Thessalonians 5:9)? Great question, we will not be suffering God’s wrath. Many of these bowl events parallel many of the plagues placed on Egypt during the exodus. Just like God protected his people during the ten plagues, we too will be protected during these bowl events. These bowls are an isolated campaign against the Antichrist, those who took the mark of the beast, and his kingdom’s headquarters. God protected and freed his people after the plagues, and we will be protected throughout these bowl events.
Take a look at 2nd Peter; he parallels Revelation 16:15-19 the 6th and 7th bowl.
10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God…2nd Peter 3:10-12
The day of the Lord (God) happens only once, and we will be snatched out of the way in just the nick of time (raptured). I say all of this to explain why you don’t see the Eagles’ wings in the battle of Armageddon protecting Israel; Jesus will literally be stepping in personally to do that.
The popular traditional false eschatology being taught today is not preparing Christians for anything that the Bible warns us about. It is hermeneutically flawed in many ways. Bible prophecy is specifically important for the last generation of Saints. As we continue to see God’s prophetic word continue to be fulfilled, it’s this that is going to build the Church’s faith stronger and provide the urgency of preparing herself as the Bride adorned for her Bridegroom (Daniel 12:9-10). The blessing is that God reveals to us through His word things that are to come before they come so that we may be able to prepare and navigate the times just ahead of us. God wants to use you on the other side of these coming events, getting the gospel out to a lost world.
13But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:13-14
