The FALSE PROPHET & MYSTERY BABYLON Of Revelation

In light of the conclave picking a new Pope today, the new Pope is the first American Pope in history, coming from Chicago, Robert Francis Prevost, elected as Pope Leo XIV. I felt this would be a good time to elaborate on the False Prophet and Mystery Babylon of Revelation. We are indeed living through the pages of Bible prophecy today, so let’s get straight to it.
11Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. Revelation 13:11-13 NKJV
The False Prophet will be the most famous and well-respected man on the planet. He will not call the Antichrist by the name Antichrist or any other titles the Bible describes the Antichrist as. Instead, the False Prophet will exalt the Antichrist and persuade people to follow after him.
(Revelation 13:11) He will look like a lamb and speak like a dragon. He will look like a holy man, but his words come from Satan himself.
(Revelation 13:12-13) The False Prophet will be a very powerful person. He will be able to perform miracles used to deceive people, one of which makes such an impact on people that the Bible lists it specifically: “he makes fire come down from heaven.” Just because a person can perform miracles doesn’t mean he is a man of God. For example, remember in (Exodus 7:10-11) when Moses threw down his staff, and it became a snake. Pharaoh’s sorcerers did the same thing. God does indeed perform miracles, and Satan is aware of this as well; this is why he will have both the False Prophet and Antichrist performing deceitful wonders to draw people unto himself.
14And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. Revelation 13:14 NKJV
This is a description of the False Prophet; we know this to be true because it matches perfectly when we look at (Revelation 19:20). It’s here we discover his title as being the False Prophet.
20Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. Revelation 19:20 NKJV
The False Prophet will also be the head Malefactor of the Great Tribulation.
15He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Revelation 13:15 NKJK
16He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16-17 NKJV
Both the Antichrist and the False Prophet will demand that all follow the one-world government, pledge allegiance to the Antichrist, and the one world religious system; if not, you will face death. The weapon that will be utilized to force all to comply so that they may participate in this economy will be the mark of the beast. We are closer to this type of system now than anyone may know.
The United Nations has been promoting the move towards a cashless global society. Its goal is to govern every person on the planet by 2030. The “REAL ID” here in the United States is nothing more than a national digital number system spearheaded by the United Nations. Many other nations have already or are in the process of setting up similar digital ID systems in their countries. The ID 2020 summit, spearheaded by the United Nations, will be held annually until 2030 with this objective in mind: to number every person on the planet. Once completed, these national digital IDs are expected to be converted into a Global ID for cross-border use. These efforts are in high gear as we speak. Whatever system that’s in place at the time will be what the Antichrist and False Prophet usurp authority over. The Antichrist and False Prophet will be “holding hands,” so to speak, to force conformity into this socialistic system. The platform of the Antichrist is in high gear now and moving closer to completion every day.
The Holy Roman Empire has always had two leaders: a political leader from Europe and a spiritual leader from Rome. This all started in 800 AD when Pope Leo III placed a crown on the head of Charlemagne, “Charles the Great,” from Germany, pronouncing him emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. The Pope has always been the spiritual leader of the Holy Roman Empire. Whoever is the Pope when the Antichrist is unveiled will be the False Prophet. Interesting to note is that this new Pope has also taken on the name Leo, Leo XIV.
The Bible does teach that Rome will be destroyed. The Bible calls this city “Mystery Babylon,” the city of seven hills, and Rome is known as the city of seven hills. Let’s look and see who “Mystery Babylon” is in Revelation.
8And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” Revelation 14:8 KJV
When does the city of Mystery Babylon fall? This happens at the 7th Bowl at the very end of the final seven years. See:
19And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. Revelation 16:19 KJV
This is not to be confused with Jeremiah’s prophecy of Babylon found in (Jeremiah 50:1-40). Furthermore, in (Jeremiah 50:39-40) the Bible states this land would never be inhabited again, contrary to what some are teaching that this city would have to be somehow revived to fit Revelation’s prophecies of Mystery Babylon. Nimrod built the original city of Babylon shortly after the flood. This city was built just over 50 miles south of today’s Baghdad on the Euphrates River in Iraq. Jeremiah’s prophecy of Babylon’s destruction was fulfilled and hasn’t been inhabited to this day. “Let God be true and every man a liar” (Romans 3:4). Babylon, as described in Revelation, is called Mystery Babylon, found in (Revelation 17:1-5).
1Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
3So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5And on her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17:1-5 NKJV
This “Mystery Babylon” is a different Babylon than what Jeremiah spoke of. Revelation chapter 17 provides a few clues to its identity.
Notice that “Mystery Babylon” is referred to as a woman. If we go down to verse 18, we find that this woman is described as a great city, not a nation.
18And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Revelation 17:18 KJV
In verse 1, we find that this woman sits on many waters. Verse 15 explains the meaning of these many waters.
15And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. Revelation 17:15 KJV
So from the first two clues, we find that this woman is a city that’s the power hub that presides over a vast international system of nations.
In verse 3, we find that this woman rides on a beast with seven heads. Verse 9 tells us who these seven heads are.
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Revelation 17:9 KJV
Ok, we now know that this city sits on seven mountains. Today, Rome is well known as the “City of Seven Hills.” To be clear, these aren’t small rolling hills that Rome sits on; they are mountains. Also, the Vatican claims to rule over 1.3 billion people worldwide as of 2018; we get this information from the census of the 2020 “Pontifical Yearbook.” Today, I believe the number is now over 1.4 billion. This makes the city of Rome an International power over “peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.” Sorry to those who tried to apply this prophecy to the United States.
The woman is clothed in Purple and Scarlet (Revelation 17:4). The Catholic Church's two ruling bodies are the College of Cardinals and the College of Bishops & Archbishops. The Cardinals wear red, and the Bishops wear purple. Also, I would like to add that the woman here in Revelation, chapter 17, is also referred to as a whore. In scripture, God uses a woman as a symbol for the church. For instance, Christ calls the church his Bride. (2 Corinthians 11:2) refers to the true Church as a "chaste virgin to Christ." The use of a harlot by God was to describe a false church of idolatry, etc. Just like what is being described here throughout Revelation chapters 17-19.
The bottom line, the Roman Catholic Church, more specifically the Vatican itself, is who the “Mystery Babylon” is. It will be this religious system that has deceived the people of the world and will continue to do so until the Battle of Armageddon. This is the religious system and its city of residence that will be utterly destroyed by Jesus at Armageddon.
As we continue to see the convergence of Bible prophecy rapidly being fulfilled, now is a time to pay attention more than ever. BE READY!
13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15
