What Are The Prophetic Implications Of Pope Francis' Death

Pope Francis died early Monday morning, just one day after Easter Celebrations. Though I offer my condolences, he rarely mentioned the name of Jesus and heavily promoted interfaithism. This is a belief that says there are many paths to God. Pope Francis spearheaded an interfaith complex in Abu Dhabi called the “Abrahamic Family House,” connecting a Catholic church, a synagogue, and a mosque all in one place. This belief contradicts Jesus, who says He is the way, the Truth, and the life (John 14:6). Also, Acts 4:12 states there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. That name is Jesus. Pope Francis advocated for World Government entities.
“Pope Francis has granted his formal approval allowing Catholic priests to bless same-sex couples so long as they do not appear to endorse their marriage, marking the church's most permissive decree yet on the issue of same-sex couples.” NPR December 18th, 2023
Pope Francis was OK with blessing the fornication of two people of the same sex, so long as they didn’t get married. In doing so, Pope Francis was blessing two sins, not just one.
So what’s next? The Catholic Church will proceed with its Papal Conclave, a private meeting of Cardinals to choose the next Pope, also known as the Bishop of Rome. This position serves both as the spiritual leader of over 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide and the head of Vatican City, the world’s smallest sovereign state. The process is expected to take approximately 15 days; however, it could take longer. Also to note, Pope Francis appointed many of the Cardinals who will be taking part in choosing the next Pope. So, those expecting a more moderate Pope going forward, I wouldn’t count on it.
The big question is, what does Pope Francis ’ death and the choosing of the next Pope mean prophetically from a Biblical perspective? Bible prophecy has been converging rapidly from many directions, especially since 2020, from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hear the footsteps of WW3 getting louder while an outcry of peace & safety is also being promoted in the Middle East as it relates to Israel and their Arab neighbors, especially those that call themselves Palestinians. The start of the final seven years draws closer every day as relentless efforts are being made to fulfill Daniel 9:27 to the letter. We saw five pure red heifers arrive in Israel, with at least two still considered pure for the first time in over 2,000 years. The Jews believe they need the ashes of a red heifer to be cleansed as a result of being in proximity to a dead person before even building the Biblically prophetic 3rd Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount. We are watching our society become more and more dependent on technology. The Beast system is being built at a rapid pace, and for the first time in our history, the technology is available to create a cashless society monitored and controlled through blockchain and advanced Super AI systems. This system will monitor everyone's buying and selling on the planet, eventually placing a mark on one’s right hand or forehead so that no one can buy or sell except those who have the mark. This mark is referred to as the Mark Of The Beast, which will utilize a 666 numbering system as allegiance to a global leader the Bible calls the Antichrist. You can read about this Beast System in Revelation chapter 13. If it weren’t for the convergence of Bible prophecy happening so fast right now before our eyes, I would say that choosing the next Pope isn’t that big of a deal, except that it is.
The Catholic Church does play a significant role during the last days. We know from the Bible that there will be two primary evil figures during the final seven years. The Antichrist and the False Prophet. They will have a very close relationship with one another in leading the Beast kingdom of Satan. Revelation chapter 13 speaks of both of these primary characters as beasts doing the bidding for Satan himself here on earth during the second half of the final seven-year period. The “False Prophet” will be whoever the Pope is during the time the Antichrist reigns. The False Prophet will be pointing people to the Antichrist as a god to be worshipped.
Where do we find the “title” in the Bible as the “False Prophet?”
”Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” Revelation 19:20 NKJV
The Antichrist will carry a lot of political & military power, according to the Bible. The False Prophet, on the other hand, will be primarily a spiritual person and is seen with a lot of religious prestige in the world, pointing people to the politically driven Antichrist for worship. See below:
“Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.” Revelation 13:11-12 NKJV
(The False Prophet will look like a lamb) - a very religious person.
(Speak like a dragon) - Satan is the great dragon. The words that the False Prophet will proclaim will come from Satan, but he is not the Antichrist because the first beast is the Antichrist (Revelation 13:3-8).
So, let’s connect a Biblical dot that points the False Prophet to the office of the Pope. I want to focus on the word lamb. What did John the Baptist say when he first saw Jesus?
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 NKJV
One of the Pope's titles is “Vicar of Christ.” Catholics understand this as meaning an earthly representation of Christ or in place of Christ in his absence. This implies that the Pope has the same authority and power over the church as Jesus.
When Revelation says he will look “like a lamb.” The Catholic Pope is the only religious leader on the planet who tries to claim such authority that only the “lamb of God” has (Jesus). Catholics today see the Pope as like Christ on earth. It doesn’t surprise me now to see some within the Catholic church start to realize the evil growing darker within this religion that will soon give birth to the False Prophet.
Popes have lifelong appointments, and as such, I can’t see the False Prophet being somewhere in the far distant future. Like I stated earlier, we are living through a Biblical convergence unlike any other time since Jesus was here 2,000 years ago. I believe we are getting ready to watch another prophetic fulfillment take place. The selection of this next Pope may be one of the last major pawns placed before Daniel’s 70th week commences. That pawn being the “False Prophet.” We are undoubtedly living in a day of Great Apostasy; soon to follow will be the “man of sin” 2nd Thessalonians 2:3.
