It is also possible that pharmakeia refers to the millions around the world currently addicted to drugs of all kinds. In context, it lists idolatry, demon worship, thefts, murders, fornication and pharmakeia all in that sentence, as things the world engaged wholesale in and refused to repent of. Steve Cioccolanti makes a good case for the White Horse of Rev. 6 being the medical industry (white symbolism) with the sharp arrow (needles) and toxin tipped. The rider has a crown, of course, and that is "Corona" in spanish.
Yeah there are a lot of theories out there about the four horseman, many take the symbolism of each and start getting really imaginative…..My way of discerning Bible prophecy is allowing the Bible to answer itself….another words, try to find all the passages in the Bible that speak towards a topic and then put them together like a puzzle to get a clear picture of what it’s saying. For example those horseman mentioned in Revelation 6:1-8 are actually mentioned in Zachariah 6:1-8 as well. They are talking about the same thing from two different angles….
I try to just stick with the Bible best as possible when using discernment. I will add though, if a Bible prophecy has already came into fruition then that can be used a corroborating evidence “historical evidence.”This is the approach that I use that is closest to 100% as you can get when trying to seek the truth on a subject matter of any kind in the Bible. Just allow the Bible to answer itself vs taking a verse or two out of context. I’ve written a book called “The EndTime Is Now” that really dives deep into the 7 seals, trumpets and Bowls…it also gives you some handles to use in “discerning” Bible prophecy found anywhere in the Bible
It is always interesting to see how each person interprets prophecy, however, it is not anyone's private interpretation that matters, but the manner of fulfillment was settled from ages ago. They missed it at Jesus' advent because they were stuck in their private interpretations, and did not see that it was a mystery - somewhat veiled (intentionally) - "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." The chief scripture-knowers said, "Search and look, for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet." Yet a poor widow and a very old man in the temple knew the Babe instantly, and ordinary prostitutes fell at his feet and acknowledged him as Son of God. We must be humble and open to ALL clues, to be judged by scripture, and not think there is only one way or our way is "correct" and only ours. To think like this is to set ourselves up to miss it, but humility and being led by the Holy Spirit in his Word may open understanding. "Of making many books there is no end." I enjoy your thoughts, as an elderly person who has been interested in prophecy all of my adult life, and appreciate your passion. I will be reading more of your articles today. May God bless and keep you and yours through the time of Jacob's trouble.
Boom! Outstanding article!
