BREAKING: It’s being reported that Israel has struck dozens of nuclear facilities as well as targeted military commanders and nuclear scientists.
At the time of this post, the United States isn’t involved in these strikes; however, this could change if Iran targets our Middle East military bases.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that this campaign could last for several days.
What to look for prophetically?
35“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, The foremost of their might. Jeremiah 49:35
Jeremiah foretells that Elam will be struck at the prominent place of its strength. Today, this could imply an attack on Iran's evolving nuclear program. One of Iran's most strategic nuclear targets is the Bushehr nuclear reactor, located in the center of ancient Elam (map below).
Jeremiah also foretells that Iran will suffer a broken bow. If your bow is broken, you lose the ability to load the arrows from out of the quiver or, in a modern sense, the missiles out of your silo. This might imply that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps cannot launch nuclear missiles at its foes (arrows in contemporary warfare are missiles).
36Against Elam I will bring the four winds From the four quarters of heaven, And scatter them toward all those winds; There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go. Jeremiah 49:36
The Bible warns that the affected populations are forced to scatter from the area after the attack. This could result from Iranians attempting to escape from an isolated nuclear disaster. If the Bushehr nuclear reactor is struck, this becomes a real possibility because the facility is loaded with fuel rods supplied by Russia. Former US Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, stated in 2010, "Israel has a problem because once the fuel rods are placed into the reactor, an attack would almost certainly release radiation into the atmosphere." Many other studies conducted on the Bushehr nuclear site have concluded that a calamity at the facility could result in such a catastrophe. The radioactive debris would cause a mass exodus of people in the surrounding area (worldwide scattering of Iranians, as the Bible foretells)!
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies And before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, My fierce anger,’ says the Lord; And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them: Jeremiah 49:37
We can conclude the Lord is angry with Iran, resulting in a significant disaster that is isolated to this nation.
38 I will set My throne in Elam, And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord. 39‘But it shall come to pass in the latter days: I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the Lord. Jeremiah 49:38-39
Jeremiah indicates that the Lord will set His throne in Elam. Iranians who accept Christ before His second coming will return to the restoration of their homeland in Elam. Interestingly, Iran has been experiencing one of the most significant revivals on earth for many years, from approximately 500 Christian converts in 1979 (the year of the Iranian Revolution) to millions today. Iran is one of the fastest-growing evangelical populations on the planet! Christianity is flourishing so rapidly that the Islamic regime has instituted severe policies to impede the movement.
It is prophesied that the likely fulfillment of this particular event will occur once the nuclear reactor is destroyed in the area. This can happen either by an earthquake or by the Israelis or even by their strongest ally, the United States, which will then release radiation that will force the evacuation of the entire region. It is important to note that the Elam region, where Bushehr is located, is an active earthquake zone.
The Zagros Mountain Range separates the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant from greater Iran (Persia). The rapid elevation change due to the mountain range may protect most of Iran from a meltdown, permitting them to attack as one of the nations of Gog & Magog another day. This event, if it indeed happens prior to the Daniel 9:27 false covenant, would most certainly set up a grander stage for a peace deal. This would, of course, give Israel a false sense of security while their foe Iran regathers itself for the Gog & Magog war led by Russia. Keep in mind Iran also has ties with China, which purchases oil from Iran. They, too, will be a key player in the Gog & Magog War.
Written over 2,600 years ago, Jeremiah may have predicted the fate of Iran's nuclear program and today's spiritual showdown in Iran! What are the odds of that? Pray for the nation of Israel.
